The software layer of SkyeOS™ is comprised of two components:
SkyeAPI™ runs on the application host processor and provides an Application Programming Interface (API) to the reader module.
SkyeOS™ runs on the reader module optimizing its performance and orchestrating the communication between reader and transponder.
SkyeAPI
SkyeAPI links the business application to SkyeOS through an application programming interface (API). The API comes as a single function library in either C or the native SkyeTek Protocol (STP). The API presents a robust set of functions that are independent of frequency, protocol, and tag specifications, freeing the engineer from the challenge of managing and optimizing variables, such as power level, tag-specific interactions, cryptography, signal modulation, anti-collision, read reliability and error correction.
SkyeAPI allows users to manage:

- Basic and advanced reader manipulation
- Security implementation
